There are places on this wild, wonderful planet that you know if you don’t see you will regret. And life is such a short, fragile and tentative endeavor that if you are to live fully you know you have to explore every place your soul speaks to you about. Life is too short for regrets.

This hike is one of the most brutal and most demanding I have ever hiked. But the view is so worth it. As I get older I find I don’t have the tolerance to the high elevation, my knees tell me all about those straight uphill treks. But my heart tells me a different story. My heart tells me of the fragility of life, the strength of my soul and the desire to experience everything so that at the end of my life I can lay my head down and know I made the effort to really live. Standing up here is like being at the top of the world, not only in location but in myself, it is a kind of silent triumph in the quest for a life well lived.
