Monument Valley is famous for the monoliths that rise up out of the desert in triumphant forms. On this day a massive sandstorm overtook us which sent us running for the safety of the hotel.

The sand isolated this mitten into a singular spectacle, standing tall and bravely in the storm. To me it is a metaphor for all of us that are tryign to get out of life alive, with our hearts intact and our souls still open. There are sandstorms that overtake us and we just have to stand alone and shine in our own unique strength. This is my hope for all who continue to seek for peace.
