An early snowfall, a cold, quick change in the weather and yet one glorious stand of aspens decided to persist in showing off the unique beauty of fall in Colorado. In my work, I find a theme of perseverance emerges. I keep finding subjects that show beauty amongst thorns. Objects that seem to refuse to let the beauty in them die away call to me.

This “Persistence” speaks to the power to decide not to break under the weight of the world. Life doesn't happen to you, it happens FOR you. Every twist and turn can lead you to something beautiful if you can find the light inside of you to see it through. The light on these aspens tells the story of this strength to shine.
