I have named this piece “Lineage” as this tree felt ancient and time-honored to me. I felt like the branches were reaching into the negative space of the image reaching for a connection to the ancestors in the mist. The solitary nature of this tree, alone in the mist resonated with me on multiple levels.

This theme of solitude and strength that is found in the tree growing in isolation is a recurring motif in my work. I often wonder what grants individuals the fortitude to stand alone without feeling lonely. I believe it's our connection to our past and our aspirations for the future that provide this strength. Drawing upon the wisdom of our ancestors while simultaneously holding onto hope for a brighter tomorrow keeps us anchored in the present moment.

This notion of seizing the opportunity to truly live while we can is a central theme in my artistic expression. The essence of tomorrow lies in our ability to bridge the gap between our past and present selves, allowing us to evolve into the person we aspire to become.
